MAYBELLINE MASTER STROBING STICK REVIEW

Hello all, As you know Maybelline has launched a number of new products this year and I am trying to get hold of all of them one by one, depending on what I find on which counter. I would suggest you take a look online because that would be way easier. Today I am going to review Maybelline Master Strobing Stick, so lets get started with what product claims.

Product Description

“Facestudio® Master Strobing Stick™ is an illuminating highlighting stick that adds targeted dimension to the face for the ultimate strobe effect.”

Benefits for You

“Discover the strobe effect! The creamy formula with micro-fine pearls combine to boost skin glow. The strobe effect creates the look of skin that appears radiant as if lit from within.  Dermatologist tested. Allergy tested.  Non-comedogenic. Suitable for all skin types.  Suitable for sensitive skin.”

This is what Maybelline says about the Master Strobing stick.

Shades Available

100 Light Iridescent

200 Medium Nude Glow

I think that the shade range is okay considering the fact that this is a new product and Maybelline has no idea what people’s response would be. Once the product becomes popular and known, more shades could be added in the range.

So far, the shades cater to the lighter skin tones and the medium ones.

Amount of Product

Sadly, the stick is only half an inch long. You are getting 0.24oz of product, but for the price point, I think its fine when compared to NARS or e.l.f.

Steps for Application

Before we get into what steps you should follow, it’s important to know how to highlight your face and “where” to highlight, as highlighting the wrong areas, might make you look oily as a whole.

You can apply this to

  • Your cheekbones
  • Center of the face
  • Brow bone
  • Inner Corner of your eyes

Apply a small amount and blend it using your fingertips, because that’s exactly how the cream formula should be blended. Don’t use any brush here, a sponge however would work fine.

Texture and Longevity

The formula turns into a powdery finish but does give you some time to blend, blend and blend. This is a good thing because it doesn’t feel like you just pasted some glitter on your face. However, do not expect it to be ver long lasting. The effect does stay for a couple of hours but then vanishes and fades away a little.

I have worn this on top of my foundations such as L’Oréal INFALLIBLE and that is a long wearing foundation so it resulted in extending the wear of my foundation to 4 hours. Which I liked A LOT.

IF you think that wearing a PRIMER would help extended the wear, it would not. Yes, that’s sad. But life is unfair and it does not give us affordable strobing sticks that are good quality. But let’s look at the brighter side of the picture and feel relieved that the drugstore IS giving us a nice strobing stick to work with.

Price

You can easily get this under $9.
